Did you know ?
Normandy has an exceptional cultural, historical and architectural heritage, but would you be able to say which sites are the most visited?
The most visited site in Normandy is the Mont Saint Michel and its abbey, still on the right side of the Couesnon River! More than 2 million visitors a year throng its charming alleyways, the jewel in the crown of the Manche region.
The American military cemetery at Omaha Beach, with its thousands of white crosses perfectly aligned in front of the ocean, receives more than 1.7 million visitors a year.
The two other most visited places in Normandy are the Basilica in Lisieux and Claude Monet’s house in Giverny, where more than 600 000 visitors a year stroll in the gardens which inspired the master of impressionism.
