The Norman hot dog, with a taste of the sea!

Students from the ESIX School of Engineering, based in Caen and Cherbourg, brilliantly flew the flag for Normandy at the recent Ecotrophelia competition for culinary innovation, organised by the Vaucluse Chambers of Commerce and supported by the French Association nationale des industries alimentaires.

Four Norman students carried off the bronze award for their project So Sea’s: vegetarian hot-dogs made from seaweed sausages and distributed by a tricycle seller called l’algovélo (the seaweed bike). A lovely way to bring together the fashion for nomadic food and Normandy, a region with a maritime outlook and at the forefront of innovation! And to show that excellence and creativity are not only on the plate, the team from ESIX also carried off the Communication and Marketing Prize.

A promising start for these future agri-food engineers!!
